External storage devices such as SSDs, USB drives, and hard drives allow DJs to transport and back up large music libraries that may otherwise not fit on a computer’s internal storage.
External storage benefits from availability, but can be easily lost / damaged if mishandled which is why having a backup, particularly in cloud storage, is always a good idea.
